  • Not at this time. However, this premium service may become available in the future. If you’d like to be notified if in-home spots open up, you can join the waitlist here.

  • The risk of accidental drowning begins as soon as an infant becomes mobile (crawling,) but each family faces different risk factors, such as having an unfenced pool versus fairly limited access to water.

The best time to start lessons is when your family is ready to commit to both the initial set of lessons and ongoing refresher or maintenance lessons.

While all students are guaranteed to learn lifesaving skills in the initial lesson set, it’s important to remember that these skills need to be practiced and properly maintained to stay sharp and effective.

Read more about maintenance and refresher lessons here.

  • It’s very possible that your child may cry while in the water. Learning new skills, in a new environment, with a new teacher can be feel uncomfortable, and crying is a natural way for infants and toddlers to communicate that something feels hard. As their skills progress, the crying always decreases or stops completely. The good news is: it doesn’t bother me, and it doesn’t hinder their learning.

  • Space in each session is limited to no more than 10 new students, with remaining time slots reserved for maintenance and refresher students. Pool space is limited, but so is my physical stamina. I pride myself on giving my full attention to each student for the safest possible lesson, which requires me to limit the number of students I teach per day.

  • Parents do not participate in the pool during lessons, but I encourage you to be actively involved from the sidelines by offering support, encouragement, and cheering on your child throughout the lesson.

  • Absolutely not. Throwing or tossing children into the pool is both unsafe and unrealistic, and it is never a part of CM SWIM CO. lessons.

  • During the final week of lessons, once students have mastered the self rescue skills, we conduct lessons in clothing. This simulates a real-life scenario, allowing students to practice self-rescue skills in a safe and controlled environment.

  • Periodic refresher and maintenance lessons are essential to keeping self-rescue skills sharp and intact. Refresher lessons are held Monday-Friday for two weeks, while maintenance lessons are once a week for five weeks, or ongoing if you choose. I recommend refresher lessons approximately every six months, though this will vary depending on your child’s needs. Weekly maintenance lessons are often everyone’s favorite, as they help reinforce skills and build confidence in a fun, consistent way.

  • At first glance, the investment might seem higher—but here’s the difference:

Survival swim lessons are designed to teach life saving skills in a short amount of time.

While some families spend $400/month for months or even years on traditional private lessons, they often see slow progress and no guaranteed outcomes. Unless those lessons lead to true water safety in 6-7 months (which is rare) the total investment can far exceed mine, without peace of mind in the meantime.

CM SWIM CO payment plans are available.

  • Yes, I work with children with disabilities and families who have experienced drowning emergencies. In some cases, I may require approval from your child’s pediatrician before they can participate in lessons, depending on the diagnosis.

If your family has experienced a fatal or non-fatal drowning, I am here to support you every step of the way through this process.

  • Nope! The Deep End is my ongoing community for swim instructors, but it’s just one way to get support. I also offer private coaching and custom done-for-you tech services (like Flodesk and HoneyBook setup) for instructors who want more personalized, hands-on help.
